Levi Thompson (RDC 2008)
Levi Thompson is a self-trained illustrator living in Port Orford, Oregon. His art illustrations are strongly influenced in equal parts by the realms of science fiction and Japanese anime. He has a strong sense of color, an intense imagination and a unique sensitivity that enables him to construct worlds based in an alternate reality - either of his own creation or through listening to others. As part of the RDC program, Levi created a custom book cover illustration from concept to completion working with a professional client on revisions, specifications and deadlines. He also designed web and print collateral for a variety of projects, including the buoy logo and map artwork for the North Curry Community Radio website plus the official Rural Design Collective crest and the design superheroes used in our launch illustration. He also adapted his traditional art skills to the digital medium, independently honing his skills in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and mastering a Wacom drawing tablet.
